Update - What's new
9 Dayz » Devlog
Latest update contains lots of UI improvements based on feedback from the community.
I am also providing a Devlog dedicated to the Improve My Game Jam 31.
Here are the most notable
- The map can be zoomed in and out using the mouse wheel.
- The viewport adapts to the resolution and orientation of the monitor.
- Missing items are crossed out in the crafting menu.
- When the actions Sleep or Rest are hovered, a preview shows their effect on hunger, thirst and energy.
- Furthermore, these actions are no longer available, if a location is infested by rats.
Checkpoints
When reading a postsign, the game gets saved. When continuing the run at a later point, the most important properties get restored, like
- Inventory items
- Characters position on the map and Characters stats (health, energy etc.)
- The in-game time, including visual day and night feedback
Other stuff does not get restored for now. When continuing a run, all places and zombies will spawn again "untouched". Don't have to be a hacker to see the potential for making the game easier here - but that's fine. Game is in development, so do what ever feels cool to you :-)
Some smaller improvements and bugfixes
- When your character runs out of items, the time it takes enemies to finish you off, is much shorter now.
- The weapon cards get removed when switching to crafting menu.
- Drinking once from lakes and fountains quenches more thirst than before.
9 Dayz
You have 9 days to reach a ship that will save you from the hell the world has turned into.
