This is the post-jam update of my Spooky 2D Jam '23 entry "Escape the Cave".
Improvements
- Added glow dust particles - they fit just nicely to the cave environment
- Music keeps playing after restart instead of stopping and restarting
- The glow of the firefly is more intense when light is at "full charge"
- The wings are flapping
- Show score, highscore and best score after each run
- Collectable points in form of stars make the highscore more diverse and non-linear
- Start page with 3 difficulty options - adjusting the amount of ligh orbs spawning and the influence of gravity, as well as the amount of points players can get during a run
Helloween Special
Bugfixes
- After cave turned completely dark, light is now coming back when player collects a lightorb "by chance"
- When you win a game, the screen showing the final score isn't disappearing any more
- No delayed "you win" message is showing up any more, when players leave the "Play again" screen open
- In Chrome the dark area now also shrinks gradually over time, instead of collapsing spontaniously
